MY FRIEND'S DREAM

-
Ojo. 2004. Madera de ciprés. 85 x 42 x 58cm.

“The work that I have done is a study to defined by the passing of time and the transformation of the paintings. I am visually trying to present the chronological development of this “vital” learning process; from the birth of the pieces to their completion. The spinning top is the model I have chosen; its ability to rotate allows it to go through various different states. I also chose it because it is popular and well known in many cultures and by many generations. I show my work in two different ways. The first is through the pieces carved out of wood, static at first glance yet able to turn. The second is through my drawings and sketches, which allow us to understand the creation processes involved, from start to finish.” Clara Carvajal, 2005.
