CANON (or the endless game)

Sabine Finkenauer (Rockenhausen, 1961) has lived and worked in Barcelona since 1993. After her training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, she specialized in sculpture, although in the early 1980s, when she had already settled in Barcelona, ​​her work took a turn towards painting.

In her third individual with us, under the title “CANON (or the endless game)”, the artist wants to refer to the different rules and precepts that have served and still serve as a model throughout the artistic tradition, to which she adds the game as a contradiction, being this playful part of her creative process what allows her to break with what is established, and create her own language. The selection of canvases and papers dated between 2022 and 2024 of the exhibition undoubtedly demonstrate that both facets are fundamental to her work.
