WHAT A WASTE OF CANVAS!
Some years ago Miguel Ángel Barba told the story that his aunt, who herself was an art expert, when looking at some of her nephew’s pictures, exclaimed: “Qué lástima de lienzo!" (“What a waste of canvas!”). On this occasion, to celebrate his third solo exhibition at our gallery, this painter from Ciudad Real who has been living in Cuenca for more than ten years, leaves his imagination behind and enters into a world of light and colour. The titles of works such as “Amanecer” (Dawn) and “Atardecer” (Dusk) allow the artist to go deeper into the abstraction of day and night. Rays and more rays. These are works created between 2008 and 2011, which allow us to see the artist's continued variations on the same these using simple materials like crayons and coloured pencils.
