Clara Carvajal

Madrid, 1970

Clara Carvajal Argüelles was born in Madrid in 1970. She studied Fine Art at the Complutense University in Madrid and at the Blake and Heatherley School of Art in London. In 1993 Clara won the “Beca Ayllón” prize awarded by the Complutense University in Segovia. In 2002 she won Bancaixa’s first prize for sculpture. In 2003 she was mentioned in the honours list in the “Ciudad de Palma Antoni Gelabert d´Arts Plastiques” in Palma de Mallorca and in the “Villa de Parla” in Madrid. In 2005 her work was chosen by the “Generación” project organized by Caja Madrid. In 2006 Clara won an acquisitive prize from the Caja Castilla la Mancha. She was also awarded the first prize at the Sculpture Bienale in Valladolid in 2007. Clara’s work can be found in a number of collections, including in the Caja Castilla La Mancha Foundation, Bancacaixa in Valencia and in the collection of Ayallon’s city council in Segovia.
