SOMETHING LIKE A TROUSSEAU

-

"I dream to be able to open the doors of the paintings that I have in front of me, allowing them to invite me to enter into them. When inside, I watch and breathe the compositions shown to me (as if they were a breath of fresh air). I let them talk me alone and let them paint themselves. Once this is done and I have stepped out of the paintings once more, I dream that I carried out my task well, well enough to allow the viewer to open those same doors, and enter into those compositions. I dream to have the freedom and the joy that painting gives me every day of my life. I dream to be a painter." MARÍA BUENO, ON “SOMETHING LIKE A TROUSSEAU”, 2013
